We made up our mind to go travelling, enjoy it, face hardship and enlightment. We have to satisfy our urge for travelling.
There are obviously expectations: getting stronger mentally, opening our eyes to new cultures and landscapes, magical memories
and stories to tell, an amazing opportunity before Tom grows up and I get too mature...

Choice of countries
We realised fairly soon that we would have to miss out on central Asia - time and money. Thus we've opted for 15 countries
- following the most favorable seasons to visit at least for the first 7:
- Russia
- Mongolia
- China
- Tibet
- Nepal
- India
- Sri Lanka
- Burma/Myanmar
- Laos
- Vietnam
- Cambodia
- Thailand
- Malaysia
- Singapore
- Indonesia
The budget for each one of them can be found here and we will write down an account of our travel for each country as we pass through them. Also in the itinerary section you can find our detailed timetable and expected length of time to be spent in each country.

Why Asia?
Asia has its own particular identity and it's cheaper for the length of time we want to spend on the road. For our £9,000
budget it's the logical choice. And we want to cover as much of Asia as we can, spend time in each country, use overland transports
as much as possible.
