The usual suspects and some alternative medecines...

The ideal bag to carry the medecines around is a waterproof one (no spilling). We will be carrying - and hopefully not having to use much of - the following:
  • paracetamol
  • antiseptic wipes
  • scissors
  • safety pins
  • micropore tape
  • various types of bandages and dressings incl. plasters
  • latex gloves
  • tiger balm
Homeopathy

It is a great alternative for almost all illnesses and ideal for travellers to reduce anxiety while travelling into the wilds. The easiest potency to use is the 30c one.
  • Aconite 200 (or 30) for panic/nervousness
  • Apis 30 for stings/bites
  • Arnica 30 and/or cream for injuries/accidents/bruises
  • Arsenicum Album 30 for nausea/food poisoning/diarrhea/vomiting
  • Belladonna 200 (or 30) for cold/fever/flu
  • Hepar Sulphur 30 for fever/infection
  • Ledum 30 for stings/bites/wounds
  • Nux Vomica 30 for overeating and drinking/nausea/vomiting

Homeopathic prophylactics: Malaria Co Nosode 30. 1 tablet per week - to start 1 week before entering the malarial area, while in the area and to continue for 4 weeks after leaving the high risk area. This is not a guaranteed preventative.

Other natural remedies include essential oils: Tea Tree oil can be used as an antiseptic (better to use than a cream which involves rubbing the wound with potentially dirty fingers) and Lavender oil works wonders on bites/stings.
